The Parker Center for Family Business assists family-owned businesses find solutions to the daily problems they experience when working with their family members. In our presentation, Healthy Dose of Changes in Employment Law in New Mexico Ben Thomas will explore the various changes in New Mexico employment law affecting businesses and employers over the last several years. Many of the employment laws implemented in New Mexico and federally in recent years have focused on employee wellness. Business owners should ensure that their policies and practices are up-to-date with the various changes and compliant with New Mexico law.

Benjamin E. Thomas is a lawyer with Rodey, Dickason, Sloan, Akin & Robb, P.A. He is an experienced employment lawyer with over 20 years of experience in New Mexico. He advises businesses with respect to employment relations and represents companies before the Human Rights Commission, the EEOC and in employment discrimination, sexual harassment and civil rights lawsuits. In addition, he conducts workplace investigations, prepares policies and employment contracts, and provides anti-harassment and anti-discrimination training seminars for his employer clients.
