Business fraud comes in many sizes and methods in all types of operations from small to very large. It can go undetected for days that accumulate into years. The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners estimated businesses will lose 5% of gross revenue in 2022. Aggregated, those losses turn into trillions of dollars. Over 44% of private businesses sustained a median loss of $120,000 per year. Small companies (those with less than 100 employees) had the highest median loss of $150,000. Nearly half of all cases occurred due to a lack of internal controls or overriding of existing controls.

Would you know how to recognize fraud in your business or what to do if you suspect a fraudulent activity in your organization? Do you have appropriate anti-fraud controls in place to countermand losses?

D. Brett Newberry, CFE, CPA, President of Newberry & Associates, Ltd, is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and will answer these questions and more at the Parker Center for Family Business Lunch & Learn presentation on June 15 at 12:00-1:00.  A hosted lunch will be served. Please join this eye-opening presentation hosted by Colliers International at 5051 Journal Center Blvd NE, first floor training room of the Mountain States Building. No cost reservations may be made at lindaparker@theparkercenter.org
